Endorsement Application Process

  1. Attend Endorsement 101 Webinar.
  2. Identify the endorsement category that best aligns with your scope of work.
  3. Join SCIMHA.
  4. Register on EASy – SCIMHA’s online Endorsement Application System
  5. Receive confirmation & EASy login credentials.
  6. Document competencies.
  7. Submit final application.
  8. Take examination.*
  9. Endorsement or deferment granted.**
  10. Renew every 3 years. 

*Mental Health Mentors only.

**All applicants receive detailed feedback from our application reviewers. If an application is deferred, SCIMHA works closely with the applicant to address all feedback so that the application can be submitted again at a future deadline.

Endorsement fees have remained unchanged since 2019 and cover the following:

  • Use of our online application system (EASy).
  • Individualized support from SCIMHA’s Endorsement coordinator throughout the application process.
  • One to two peer application reviewers.
  • A resource study guide to prepare for the exam (required for Mental Health Specialist and Mental Health Mentor applicants only).
  • Proctored exam.
  • Review of exam by two to three reviewers.

SCIMHA is unable to issue refunds (full or partial) at any stage in the endorsement process.
