Supporting and strengthening secure parent-child relationships.

Our Circle of Security® Parenting™ (COSP) program is an eight-week parenting group that highlights how children communicate their emotional needs and how parents can best respond.

Based on decades of research, this evidence-based program offers caregivers an understanding of attachment system complexities and how they contribute to infants’ and toddlers’ sense of security, competence and lifelong learning.

Using COSP, facilitators work with parents, foster parents and caregivers to help them:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs.
  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions.
  • Enhance the development of their child's self-esteem.
  • Honor the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure.

To learn more or register for upcoming COSP training, visit our Events page.

If you are a child care professional interested in being trained as a Circle of Security Facilitator, email admin@scimha.org or sign up for our newsletter.
