Objectives: Upon completion of this session participants will:
- Understand the importance of father involvement and their impact on the mental development of children
- Learn about the impact of fatherlessness and it’s impact on society
- Help practitioners develop strategies to best meet the needs of the families that they serve and increase father involvement
Presenter:
Marc Himes, Director of Community Engagement
Marc Himes currently serves as a Director of Community Engagement for the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families a faith-based, nonprofit organization that supports a statewide infrastructure designed to strengthen relationships between fathers and families throughout South Carolina. In this position he provides programming support, training, and oversite of various statewide projects. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina, and a Masters in Counseling from Webster University. He and his wife Rosalyn reside in Columbia, SC and have three children, Kollin, Kaitlyn, and Dylan.
